Novel coronavirus alert

Seven new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Queensland.
Details of the cases are:
- A 19-year-old male from the Brisbane region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in The Prince Charles Hospital in a stable condition.
- He is a close contact of the 22-year-old male university student, confirmed as a case of COVID-19, 10 March 2020.
- A 37-year-old male from the Brisbane region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in The Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
- He had recently returned from travel in Geneva, Switzerland and through Abu Dhabi, Dubai.
- A 63-year-old male with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Gold Coast Hospital in a stable condition.
- He had recently returned from travel in the United States of America and recently arrived on the Gold Coast.
- A 64-year-old female with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Gold Coast Hospital in a stable condition.
- She had recently returned from travel in the United States of America and is a travelling companion of the third confirmed case.
- A 40-year-old male from the Brisbane region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in The Prince Charles Hospital in a stable condition.
- He had recently returned from travel in the United Kingdom.
- A 24-year-old male from Brisbane region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
- He had recently returned from travel in the United States of America.
- A 56-year-old female from the Brisbane region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
- She had recently returned from travel in Indonesia.
Contact tracing is underway for these seven new cases, in addition to the previously confirmed cases. We will notify the community if any other public health alerts are required.
A total of twenty-seven people in Queensland have been confirmed with COVID-19, including three people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
Queensland Health is urging anyone who has been overseas in the last 14 days and is feeling unwell to see a doctor immediately.
Please call ahead to the GP surgery or hospital and let them know your symptoms and travel history, this will help them prepare for your arrival.
Queenslanders can do their part by practicing good hygiene and staying home if you’re sick.

Two new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Queensland.
Details of the cases are:
- A 32-year-old female from the Gold Coast region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.She had recently travelled to the United States of America.
- A 31-year-old male from the Gold Coast region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
He is a close contact of the 32-year-old female.
Contact tracing is underway for these two new cases, in addition to the previously confirmed cases. We will notify the community if any other public health alerts are required.
We are in the process of directly contacting people who shared close contact with the 22-year-old male, confirmed with COVID-19 on 10 March 2020, on the University of Queensland campus.
As a precaution, we are asking anyone who attended Friday’s Riverside in Brisbane City from 6pm Friday afternoon and 11pm Monday evening, who becomes unwell to contact 13 HEALTH and advise that you were at the venue during these times.
If you went to these locations but did not go during these dates or times, there is no need for concern, but if you would like any advice please ring 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).

Three new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Queensland.
Details of the cases are:
- A 42-year-old female from the Sunshine Coast region with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
- She is the partner of the 38-year-old woman with COVID-19, confirmed on 8 March 2020, who has recently travelled from London through Dubai.
- A 46-year-old female from Brisbane with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation, in a stable condition in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
- She has recently travelled to Austria and France.
- A 22-year-old male from Brisbane with confirmed COVID-19 is in isolation, in a stable condition in The Prince Charles Hospital.
- He has recently travelled to Spain, Italy and France.
Contact tracing is underway for these three new cases, in addition to the previously confirmed cases. We will notify the community if any other public health alerts are required.

One new case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Queensland.
A 38-year-old female from Maleny district has been transferred to an isolation room in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. She is in a stable condition.
The woman has recently travelled from London through Dubai. Contact tracing is underway and we will notify the community of any public health alert required.
A total of fifteen people in Queensland have been confirmed with COVID-19, including three people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
We are in the process of contacting people sitting two rows behind, two rows in front and two seats beside the patients with COVID-19 cases confirmed on 5 March 2020. The flight details of each case are:
- 81-year-old male, now isolated in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital – Thai Airways flight from Thailand to Brisbane TG473 on 26 February 2020.
- 29-year-old female, now isolated in The Prince Charles Hospital – Qantas flight QF2 departing on 29 February from London to Singapore, then QF52 from Singapore arriving in Brisbane on 2 March 2020.
All other passengers on these flights are considered very low risk, however anyone with health concerns can contact 13 HEALTH.

One new case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Queensland.
A 28-year-old male is in a stable condition and is being transferred from his home in Brisbane to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
He has recently returned from Iran and contact tracing is underway.
A total of fourteen people in Queensland have been confirmed with COVID-19, including three people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

Two new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Queensland.
The first case is an 81-year-old male who is in a stable condition in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He has recently returned from Thailand.
The second case is a 29-year-old female from Brisbane who is now well and is isolated. She has recently travelled from London to Brisbane, with a short stopover in Singapore.
A total of thirteen people in Queensland have been confirmed with COVID-19, including three people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
A 63-year-old woman, confirmed with COVID-19 on 29 February 2020, remains in isolation in a stable condition at Gold Coast University Hospital.
A 20-year-old male from Toowong, confirmed with COVID-19 on 3 March 2020, remains in isolation in a stable condition at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The housemate of the male from Toowong who was awaiting test results does not have COVID-19. He has returned home to self-quarantine for 14 days due to his close contact with a confirmed case.
A 26-year-old male from Logan, confirmed with COVID-19 on 4 March 2020, remains in isolation in a stable condition at Princess Alexandra Hospital. The man had recently returned to Brisbane from Iran.
We will be contacting the people sitting in his close proximity two rows behind, in front and beside him on his flight into Brisbane – Emirates EK430.
All other passengers are considered very low risk, however anyone with health concerns can contact 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
The other eight patients have been clinically cleared by their treating team and discharged from hospital.

A 26-year-old male from Logan is currently in isolation in Princess Alexandra Hospital after testing positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The man who has recently returned from Iran remains in a stable condition.
There have now been eleven people in Queensland confirmed with COVID-19, including the three people from the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship.
A 20-year-old man, confirmed with COVID-19 on 3 March 2020, remains isolated in a stable condition in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
This patient’s housemate is also isolated in the RBWH undergoing assessment. COVID-19 testing for this man is ongoing and the community will be updated once test results are finalised.

There has been a seventh novel coronavirus case confirmed in Queensland.
A 20-year-old male from China has been confirmed with coronavirus (COVID-19) in Toowong, Brisbane.
The man is currently in a stable condition in isolation in the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The man had travelled to Dubai for at least 14 days before entering Australia, via Brisbane on 23 February 2020. He became unwell on 25 February 2020.
There have now been ten people in Queensland with COVID-19, including the three people from the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship. Eight patients have been clinically cleared by their treating team and discharged from hospital.

There has been a sixth novel coronavirus case confirmed in Queensland.
A 63 year old woman has been confirmed to have novel coronavirus on the Gold Coast.
The woman returned from Iran and is currently in isolation at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Contact tracing is underway.
Queensland Health will be contacting customers of Hair Plus at Australia Fair, Southport, who had appointments at the salon on Thursday 27 February after 11 am and may have been in close contact with the woman.
If you went to Australia Fair but did not go to that particular hair salon on Thursday, there is no need for concern, but if you would like any advice please ring 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).

There has been a third novel coronavirus case confirmed in Queensland.
An 8 year old boy, a Chinese national from Wuhan (Hubei Province), has been confirmed to have novel coronavirus.
The child is a member of the tour group travelling with the 44 year old man and a 42 year old woman confirmed with coronavirus on 29 January and 30 January 2020.

There has been a second novel coronavirus case confirmed in Queensland.
A 42 year old woman, a Chinese national from Wuhan (Hubei Province), has been confirmed to have novel coronavirus.
The woman was a member of the tour group travelling with the 44 year old man confirmed with coronavirus on 29 January 2020.

Gold Coast region
There has now been a confirmed case of novel coronavirus in Queensland.
The man, 44, remains in a stable condition at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), where he is in isolation.
The man, who is from the city of Wuhan (Hubei Province), arrived in Melbourne via Singapore as part of a tour group on 22 January 2020, 5 days before feeling unwell.
He developed symptoms on a flight from Melbourne to the Gold Coast on Tiger Airways flight #TT566 on 27 January. The flight arrived at 8.45pm.
He was taken to GCUH about 3.30pm on 28 January where he was tested and diagnosed with novel coronavirus.
We urge anyone who has been in the above areas at these times to be alert for symptoms of novel coronavirus for 14 days following that date. If they develop symptoms, they should visit their GP immediately. They should call ahead and advise the clinic of their symptoms so precautions can be taken.
A number of clinical symptoms have been reported in identified cases of novel coronavirus. These symptoms include:
- fever
- a cough
- sore throat
- fatigue
- difficulty breathing.
