Summary
As of April 7, there are seven (7) new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 260 reported cases of COVID‐19 in Saskatchewan.
- No (0) new cases were Saskatchewan residents tested in out of province
- 260 cases are confirmed and no (0) cases are presumptive (waiting for confirmation by NML)
- 169 cases out of the 260 cases are considered active (65.0%)
- 131 cases are in the Saskatoon area, 52 cases are from the Regina area, 48 cases are from the north area, 15 cases are from the south area, ten (10) cases are from the central area and four (4) cases are in the far north
- Thirteen (13) of the cases are individuals in the 0-19 year old category; all others are adults, with 53% of the cases are males and 47% are females
- 44% (115) of cases are travel-related, 31% (80) are either contacts or linked to a mass gathering event, 5% (13) have no known exposures and 20% (52) are under investigation by local public health
- Twenty-five (25) cases are healthcare workers
- A total of seven (7) individuals are hospitalized; including five (5) inpatient hospitalizations and two (2) in ICU hospitalizations
- Three (3) Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died. Saskatchewan now has a fatality rate of 1.2%
- A total of eighty-eight (88) individuals have recovered (33.8%)
