Cases and Risk of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan

Summary

As of April 10, there are six (6) new confirmed cases and one (1) new presumptive case, bringing the total to 285 reported cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.

  • 284 cases are confirmed and one (1) case is presumptive (waiting for confirmation by NML)
  • 146 cases out of the 285 cases are considered active (51.2%)
  • 142 cases are in the Saskatoon area, 60 cases are from the Regina area, 52 cases are from the north area, 15 cases are from the south area, 10 cases are from the central area and six (6) cases are in the far north
  • 17 of the cases are individuals in the 0-19 year old category; all others are adults, with 54% of the cases are males and 46% are females
  • 123 cases are travel-related, 103 cases are either contacts or linked to a mass gathering event, 22 cases have no known exposures and 36 cases are under investigation by local public health
  • 30 cases are health care workers, although the source of their infections may not be health care related
  • A total of eight (8) individuals are hospitalized; including six (6) inpatient hospitalizations and two (2) in ICU hospitalizations
  • Three (3) Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died. Saskatchewan now has a fatality rate of 1.1%
  • A total of 136 individuals have recovered (47.7%)
  • 17,634 COVID-19 tests had been performed in Saskatchewan
