Summary
As of April 25, there are eight (8) new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, bringing the total to 349 reported cases.
- 347 cases are confirmed and two (2) are presumptive (referred to RRPL/NML for confirmatory testing)
- 57 cases out of the 349 cases are considered active
- 150 cases are in the Saskatoon area, 73 cases are from the Regina area, 65 cases are from the north area, 35 cases are in the far north, 15 cases are from the south area and 11 cases are from the central area
- 29 of the cases are individuals in the 19 and under age category; all others are adults, with 51% of the cases are males and 49% are females
- 138 of cases are travel-related, 146 are either contacts or linked to a mass gathering event, 34 have no known exposures and 31 are under investigation by local public health
- 37 cases are healthcare workers, although the source of their infections may not be health care related
- A total of four (4) individuals are hospitalized; including two (2) inpatient hospitalizations and two (2) ICU hospitalizations
- Four (4) Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died. Saskatchewan has a fatality rate of 1.1%
- A total of 288 individuals have recovered (82.5%)
- 27,232 COVID-19 tests had been performed in Saskatchewan
