Cases and Risk of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan

Summary

As of April 26, there are four (4) new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, bringing the total to 353 reported cases.

  • 353 cases are confirmed and none (0) are presumptive (referred to RRPL/NML for confirmatory testing)
  • 61 cases out of the 353 cases are considered active
  • 150 cases are in the Saskatoon area, 74 cases are from the Regina area, 68 cases are from the north area, 35 cases are in the far north, 15 cases are from the south area and 11 cases are from the central area 
  • 29 of the cases are individuals in the 19 and under age category; all others are adults, with 51% of the cases are males and 49% are females
  • 138 of cases are travel-related, 148 are either contacts or linked to a mass gathering event, 35 have no known exposures and 32 are under investigation by local public health
  • 38 cases are healthcare workers, although the source of their infections may not be health care related
  • A total of five (5) individuals are hospitalized; including three (3) inpatient hospitalizations and two (2) ICU hospitalizations
  • Four (4) Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died. Saskatchewan has a fatality rate of 1.1%
  • A total of 288 individuals have recovered (82.5%)
  • 27,884 COVID-19 tests had been performed in Saskatchewan
