43 new deaths and 359 new cases confirmed
- the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has been notified that 43 people diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ireland have died - bringing the total deaths to 1,232 (following closer inspection by the HPSC, 1 death that was reported earlier has now been removed from the totals)
- 359 additional cases have been confirmed in Ireland
- there are now 20,612 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland
Breakdown of the 1,011 lab confirmed deaths
- 463 (45.8%) were hospitalised
- 55 (5.6%) were admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU)
- 878 (86.8%) were reported to have had underlying health conditions
- there were 53% male and 47% female
- the median age was 83
- the mean age was 81

Breakdown of the situation in community residential and nursing home settings
- there were 371 clusters in community residential settings, 219 of which were in nursing homes
- there were 4590 cases in community residential settings, 3679 of which were in nursing homes
- 348 people were admitted to hospital from community residential settings, 233 of whom came from nursing homes
- 735 people have died in community residential settings (including probable deaths), 630 of whom were in nursing homes. This represents 59.7% and 51.1% of total COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland, respectively
