The Minister for Health continued her courtesy vis

The Minister for Health continued her courtesy visit yesterday with stops at Maison Hermitage, Green Roof Bulding, Yellow Roof Building and the Procurement & Storage Facility.

She met with staff from the Health Promotion Support Unit, International Cooperation, Accounts, Human Resources, Statistics, Occupational Health, UPCCD, pharmacy and others.

'Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibilitity' is the theme for this year's World AIDS Day, commemorated today Tuesday 1st December.

The activities for the occasion were launched by the Principal Secretary for Health Dr Bernard during a workshop aimed at building capacity for HIV & viral hepatitis prevention during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reading the Minister's messaged, PS Valentin reminded health workees that as healthcare providers they need to ensure that care continues during the response the pandemic and that HIV services are not affected.

While measures taken to respond to the pandemic national is seen to have impacted access HIV services such as educational outreach and testing, the Ministry of Health and it's partners are working strongly towards reinforcing these services as part of continuity of care programmes.

The reduction of expenses incurred by the Ministry

The reduction of expenses incurred by the Ministry of Health and boosting community health services were amongst key topics discussed during the Minister’s second courtesy visit to health facilities on Friday 27th November 2020.

Joined by the President, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan, the Vice-President, Mr Ahmed Afif, National Assembly Members for Au Cap and Anse Royale and senior management of the ministry, Minister Vidot toured the Anse Royale Health Centre.

While the health centre was being kept as a backup isolation facility in line with the national response plan for COVID-19, services are set to return to the facility as of Monday 30th November 2020.
