As of 3 October 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 6 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

Among the cases:

  • Imported cases: 4
    • 1 Singaporean, 2 Work Permit holders, 1 Short-Term Visit Pass holder

Amongst the 4 imported cases, 1 is a Singaporean who returned to Singapore from India on 21 September. Another 2 cases are Work Permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia on 21 September. The remaining case, a child whose parent is a Singapore Permanent Resident, is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from Indonesia on 25 September. 

All of them had been placed on 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore, and were tested while serving their SHN at dedicated facilities.

  • Cases in the community: 1
    • 1 Singaporean

There is 1 case in the community today who is currently unlinked. The case was detected under enhanced community testing to test all individuals aged 13 and above who are diagnosed with acute respiratory infection (ARI) at first presentation to a doctor.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has increased from an average of fewer than 1 case per day in the week before, to an average of 1 case in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of fewer than 1 case per day in the past 2 weeks. 

  • Cases residing in dormitories: 1

There is 1 case residing in a dormitory, who had been identified earlier as a contact of previous cases, and had already been quarantined to prevent further transmission. He was tested during quarantine to determine his status. 

Of the new cases, 83% are imported or linked to known cases/clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

28 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 57,562 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities. 

Most of the 46 confirmed cases who are still in hospital are stable or improving. None is in the intensive care unit.

165 cases who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. 

27 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
