COVID-19: Cases in Singapore

An update of the latest confirmed cases in Singapore

As of 15 October 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified 1 new case of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. The case resides in a dormitory and there are no new cases in the community. In addition, there are 2 imported cases, who had both been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival. All new cases today are asymptomatic, and were detected from proactive screening and surveillance.

Among the cases:

  • Cases in the community: 0
    • There are no cases in the community today.
  • Cases residing in dormitories: 0
    • 1 asymptomatic

There is 1 case residing in a dormitory today. He was detected through the bi-weekly Rostered Routine Testing of workers living in dormitories.

  • Imported cases: 2
    • 2 asymptomatic

Of the 2 imported cases, 1 is a Singaporean who returned from the US, and the other is a Work Permit holder currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia. Both cases had been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from an average of 1 case per day in the week before, to an average of fewer than 1 per day in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from an average of fewer than 1 case per day in the week before, to none in the past week.

All the new cases today are imported or linked to known cases/ clusters. 

12 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 57,752 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities. 

Most of the 36 confirmed cases who are still in hospital are stable or improving. None is in the intensive care unit.

64 cases who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. 

28 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
