COVID-19: Cases in Singapore

An update of the latest confirmed cases in Singapore

As of 7 November 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified that there are no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. There are 7 imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Amongst the new cases today, 5 are asymptomatic, and were detected from proactive screening and surveillance, while 2 were symptomatic.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with a total of 1 case in the past week, who is currently unlinked.

Among the cases:

  • Cases residing in dormitories: 0

There are no cases residing in dormitories today. 

  • Imported cases: 7
    • 2 symptomatic
    • 5 asymptomatic

Amongst the 7 imported cases, 2 are Singaporeans who returned from the UK and Canada, and 1 is a Singapore Permanent Resident who returned from South Korea. Another 2 cases are currently employed in Singapore. One is a Work Pass holder who arrived from the Netherlands and the other is a Work Permit holder who arrived from Malaysia. The remaining 2 cases are Short-Term Visit Pass holders. One was permitted entry into Singapore from the UK to visit her child who is a Singapore Permanent Resident, and the other arrived from Ukraine to board a ship docked here as a crew member. 

 

They had all already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

 
9 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 57,968 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

Most of the 34 confirmed cases who are still in hospital are stable or improving. None is in the intensive care unit.

24 cases who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. 

28 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
