COVID-19: Cases in Singapore
As of 18 December 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified that there are no new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. There are 9 imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Amongst the new cases today, 8 are asymptomatic, and were detected from our proactive screening and surveillance, while 1 was symptomatic.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low, with no new cases in the past week.

There are no cases residing in dormitories today.
- Imported cases: 9 (1 symptomatic, 8 asymptomatic)
Amongst the 9 imported cases, 2 are Singaporeans and 1 is a Singapore Permanent Resident who returned from India and Austria. Another 3 are Work Permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from Indonesia. In addition, there is 1 Dependant’s Pass holder who arrived from the UK, and a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from India to visit her Singaporean family member. The remaining case is a Special Pass holder who arrived from India to board a ship docked here as a crew member.
They had all already been placed on SHN or isolated upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN or during isolation.
13 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 58,265 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
Most of the 36 confirmed cases who are still in hospital are stable or improving. None is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
56 cases who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities.
29 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
