Summary
As of April 22, there are six (6) new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan bringing the total to 326 reported cases.
- No (0) new cases were Saskatchewan residents tested out of province
- 326 cases are confirmed and none (0) are presumptive (referred to RRPL/NML for confirmatory testing)
- 61 cases out of the 326 cases are considered active (18.7%)
- 150 cases are in the Saskatoon area, 71 cases are from the Regina area, 61 cases are from the north area, 18 cases are in the far north, 15 cases are from the south area and 11 cases are from the central area
- Twenty-six (26) of the cases are individuals in the 19 and under age category; all others are adults, with 52% of the cases are males and 48% are females
- 42% (136) of cases are travel-related, 41% (135) are either contacts or linked to a mass gathering event, 10% (32) have no known exposures and 7% (23) are under investigation by local public health
- Thirty-six (36) cases are healthcare workers, although the source of their infections may not be health care related
- A total of five (5) individuals are hospitalized; including four (4) inpatient hospitalizations and one (1) in ICU hospitalization
- Four (4) Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died. Saskatchewan now has a fatality rate of 1.2%
- A total of 261 individuals have recovered (80.1%)
- 25,321 COVID-19 tests had been performed in Saskatchewan.
