Situation update for the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland

Epidemiological update

Situation update 26 February 8:00 CET

As of 26 February, 381 cases and 12 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland:

  • 322 cases in Italy (three imported, 319 locally acquired),
  • 18 cases in Germany (three imported, 15 locally acquired),
  • 14 cases in France (seven imported, seven locally acquired),
  • 13 cases in the United Kingdom (12 imported, one locally acquired),
  • seven cases in Spain (seven imported),
  • two cases in Austria (two imported),
  • one case in Croatia (imported),
  • one case in Belgium (imported),
  • one case in Finland (imported),
  • one case in Sweden (imported),
  • one in Switzerland (imported).

Eleven deaths have been reported in Italy; one death has been reported in France.

Weekly threats reports (CDTR)

The ECDC Communicable disease threats reports are a weekly summary of all information gathered through epidemic intelligence activities regarding communicable diseases of concern to the EU. It also provides updates on the global situation and changes in the epidemiology of communicable diseases with potential to affect Europe. Diseases that are the focus of eradication efforts are also included.
