As of 5 March, 4 197 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: Italy (3 089), France (285), Germany (262), Spain (200), United Kingdom (85), Norway (56), Netherlands (38), Sweden (35), Austria (29), Iceland (26), Belgium (23), Denmark (10), Greece (10), Croatia (9), Czech Republic (8), Finland (7), Ireland (6), Portugal (5), Romania (4), Estonia (2), Hungary (2), Latvia (1), Liechtenstein (1), Lithuania (1), Luxembourg (1), Poland (1) and Slovenia (1).

As of 5 March 2020, 112 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: Italy (107), France (4) and Spain (1).

Weekly threats reports (CDTR)

The ECDC Communicable disease threats reports are a weekly summary of all information gathered through epidemic intelligence activities regarding communicable diseases of concern to the EU. It also provides updates on the global situation and changes in the epidemiology of communicable diseases with potential to affect Europe. Diseases that are the focus of eradication efforts are also included.
