How is the data collected?

As of 30 May 2020, 1 391 619 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (271 222), Spain (238 564), Italy (232 248), Germany (181 196), France (149 668), Belgium (58 061), Netherlands (46 126), Sweden (36 476), Portugal (31 946), Ireland (24 876), Poland (23 155), Romania (18 982), Austria (16 594), Denmark (11 593), Czechia (9 196), Norway (8 411), Finland (6 776), Luxembourg (4 012), Hungary (3 841), Greece (2 909), Bulgaria (2 499), Croatia (2 245), Estonia (1 859), Iceland (1 805), Lithuania (1 662), Slovakia (1 520), Slovenia (1 473), Latvia (1 064), Cyprus (941), Malta (616) and Liechtenstein (83).

As of 30 May 2020, 164 236 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (38 161), Italy (33 229), France (28 714), Spain (27 121), Belgium (9 443), Germany (8 489), Netherlands (5 931), Sweden (4 350), Ireland (1 645), Portugal (1 383), Romania (1 240), Poland (1 051), Austria (668), Denmark (568), Hungary (517), Czechia (319), Finland (314), Norway (236), Greece (175), Bulgaria (139), Luxembourg (110), Slovenia (108), Croatia (103), Lithuania (68), Estonia (67), Slovakia (28), Latvia (24), Cyprus (17), Iceland (10), Malta (7) and Liechtenstein (1).

NOTE: on 29/05/2020, the increase reported by France is due to the implementation of a new laboratory-based surveillance system of COVID-19 (SI-DEP) since 13 May with a significant increase of the laboratory coverage, allowing the inclusion of retrospective cases diagnosed since that date.
