How is the data collected?

As of 3 June 2020, 1 410 698 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (277 985), Spain (239 932), Italy (233 515), Germany (182 370), France (151 325), Belgium (58 615), Netherlands (46 647), Sweden (38 589), Portugal (32 895), Ireland (25 066), Poland (24 395), Romania (19 517), Austria (16 674), Denmark (11 734), Czechia (9 364), Norway (8 446), Finland (6 887), Luxembourg (4 020), Hungary (3 931), Greece (2 918), Bulgaria (2 538), Croatia (2 246), Estonia (1 870), Iceland (1 806), Lithuania (1 682), Slovakia (1 522), Slovenia (1 475), Latvia (1 079), Cyprus (952), Malta (620) and Liechtenstein (83).

As of 3 June 2020, 167 270 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (39 369), Italy (33 530), France (28 940), Spain (27 940), Belgium (9 505), Germany (8 551), Netherlands (5 967), Sweden (4 468), Ireland (1 658), Portugal (1 436), Romania (1 279), Poland (1 092), Austria (669), Denmark (580), Hungary (534), Czechia (323), Finland (320), Norway (237), Greece (179), Bulgaria (144), Luxembourg (110), Slovenia (108), Croatia (103), Lithuania (71), Estonia (68), Slovakia (28), Latvia (24), Cyprus (17), Iceland (10), Malta (9) and Liechtenstein (1).

NOTE: on 29/05/2020, the increase reported by France is due to the implementation of a new laboratory-based surveillance system of COVID-19 (SI-DEP) since 13 May with a significant increase of the laboratory coverage, allowing the inclusion of retrospective cases diagnosed since that date.
