How is the data collected?

As of 6 June 2020, 1 429 883 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (283 311), Spain (240 978), Italy (234 531), Germany (183 678), France (153 055), Belgium (58 907), Netherlands (47 152), Sweden (42 939), Portugal (33 969), Poland (25 419), Ireland (25 163), Romania (20 103), Austria (16 803), Denmark (11 875), Czechia (9 529), Norway (8 504), Finland (6 941), Luxembourg (4 032), Hungary (3 970), Greece (2 937), Bulgaria (2 668), Croatia (2 247), Estonia (1 910), Iceland (1 806), Lithuania (1 694), Slovakia (1 526), Slovenia (1 489), Latvia (1 082), Cyprus (960), Malta (622) and Liechtenstein (83).

As of 6 June 2020, 168 293 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (40 261), Italy (33 774), France (29 111), Spain (27 134), Belgium (9 566), Germany (8 646), Netherlands (6 005), Sweden (4 639), Ireland (1 670), Portugal (1 465), Romania (1 308), Poland (1 137), Austria (672), Denmark (586), Hungary (542), Czechia (327), Finland (322), Norway (238), Greece (179), Bulgaria (160), Luxembourg (110), Slovenia (108), Croatia (103), Lithuania (71), Estonia (69), Slovakia (28), Latvia (25), Cyprus (17), Iceland (10), Malta (9) and Liechtenstein (1).

NOTE: on 29/05/2020, the increase reported by France is due to the implementation of a new laboratory-based surveillance system of COVID-19 (SI-DEP) since 13 May with a significant increase of the laboratory coverage, allowing the inclusion of retrospective cases diagnosed since that date.
