How is the data collected?

As of 13 June 2020, 1 466 883 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (292 950), Spain (243 209), Italy (236 305), Germany (186 022), France (156 287), Belgium (59 819), Sweden (49 684), Netherlands (48 461), Portugal (36 180), Poland (28 577), Ireland (25 250), Romania (21 404), Austria (16 994), Denmark (12 099), Czechia (9 938), Norway (8 606), Finland (7 073), Luxembourg (4 055), Hungary (4 053), Bulgaria (3 191), Greece (3 108), Croatia (2 249), Estonia (1 970), Iceland (1 807), Lithuania (1 756), Slovakia (1 542), Slovenia (1 490), Latvia (1 096), Cyprus (980), Malta (645) and Liechtenstein (83).

As of 13 June 2020, 170 997 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (41 481), Italy (34 223), France (29 374), Spain (27 136), Belgium (9 646), Germany (8 781), Netherlands (6 053), Sweden (4 854), Ireland (1 705), Portugal (1 505), Romania (1 380), Poland (1 222), Austria (675), Denmark (594), Hungary (555), Czechia (329), Finland (325), Norway (242), Greece (183), Bulgaria (172), Luxembourg (110), Slovenia (109), Croatia (107), Lithuania (74), Estonia (69), Slovakia (28), Latvia (27), Cyprus (18), Iceland (10), Malta (9) and Liechtenstein (1).

NOTE: on 29/05/2020, the increase reported by France is due to the implementation of a new laboratory-based surveillance system of COVID-19 (SI-DEP) since 13 May with a significant increase of the laboratory coverage, allowing the inclusion of retrospective cases diagnosed since that date.
