As of 15 August 2020, 1 904 768 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: Spain (342 813), United Kingdom (316 367), Italy (252 809), Germany (222 828), France (212 211), Sweden (84 294), Belgium (77 020), Romania (68 046), Netherlands (61 785), Poland (55 319), Portugal (53 783), Ireland (26 955), Austria (22 951), Czechia (19 693), Denmark (15 379), Bulgaria (14 243), Norway (9 850), Finland (7 700), Luxembourg (7 405), Greece (6 632), Croatia (6 258), Hungary (4 853), Slovakia (2 801), Slovenia (2 369), Lithuania (2 352), Estonia (2 177), Iceland (1 983), Cyprus (1 318), Latvia (1 308), Malta (1 175) and Liechtenstein (91).
As of 15 August 2020, 179 330 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (41 357), Italy (35 234), France (30 406), Spain (28 617), Belgium (9 924), Germany (9 231), Netherlands (6 158), Sweden (5 783), Romania (2 904), Poland (1 858), Ireland (1 774), Portugal (1 772), Austria (725), Denmark (621), Hungary (607), Bulgaria (492), Czechia (394), Finland (333), Norway (261), Greece (223), Croatia (163), Slovenia (124), Luxembourg (122), Lithuania (81), Estonia (63), Latvia (32), Slovakia (31), Cyprus (20), Iceland (10), Malta (9) and Liechtenstein (1).
*The COVID-19 cases reported for Malta do not include COVID-19 positive migrant cases who have disembarked in Malta and have been quarantined upon arrival.
The cases reported in the table below for Spain include cases from the previous 14 days with available data at the time of data collection. On 12 August 2020, Spain retro corrected the cumulative number of deaths leading to a negative increase of deaths.
On 10 August 2020, the United Kingdom reported less cumulative deaths in the United Kingdom. This is due to revisions in historical data. On 13 August 2020, the United Kingdom did not report cumulative cases and deaths due to technical difficulties. Data will be updated as soon as it is made available.
