As of 25 August 2020, 2 078 775 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: Spain (405 436), United Kingdom (326 614), Italy (260 298), France (244 854), Germany (234 853), Sweden (86 721), Belgium (81 998), Romania (79 330), Netherlands (67 062), Poland (62 310), Portugal (55 720), Ireland (28 116), Austria (25 547), Czechia (22 181), Denmark (16 397), Bulgaria (15 287), Norway (10 323), Greece (8 819), Croatia (8 311), Finland (7 938), Luxembourg (7 794), Hungary (5 191), Slovakia (3 424), Lithuania (2 673), Slovenia (2 665), Estonia (2 275), Iceland (2 073), Malta (1 667), Cyprus (1 460), Latvia (1 337) and Liechtenstein (101).

As of 25 August 2020, 180 852 deaths have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK: United Kingdom (41 433), Italy (35 441), France (30 528), Spain (28 872), Belgium (9 996), Germany (9 277), Netherlands (6 193), Sweden (5 813), Romania (3 309), Poland (1 960), Portugal (1 801), Ireland (1 777), Austria (733), Denmark (623), Hungary (613), Bulgaria (545), Czechia (415), Finland (335), Norway (264), Greece (242), Croatia (173), Slovenia (128), Luxembourg (124), Lithuania (85), Estonia (64), Latvia (33), Slovakia (33), Cyprus (21), Iceland (10), Malta (10) and Liechtenstein (1).

*The COVID-19 cases reported for Malta do not include COVID-19 positive migrant cases who have disembarked in Malta and have been quarantined upon arrival.

On 17 August 2020, in Malta, the total number of cases resulted in a lower case count compared to the previous day. This may be due to a revision in historical data.

The cases reported in the table below for Spain include cases from the previous 14 days with available data at the time of data collection. On 12 August 2020, Spain retro corrected the cumulative number of deaths leading to a negative increase of deaths.
