* Figures may change based on findings from ongoing local epidemiological investigation efforts.
○ Of the 35 new cases, 5 were imported cases and 30 were locally transmitted cases.
- Of the 5 imported cases, 3 are from America, 2 from Europe.
○ Related to the Coupang logistics center cluster in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, in total, 112* cases have been confirmed as of 12:00 today.
* 74 workers of the logistics center; 38 contacts / Gyeonggi=50, Incheon=43, Seoul=19
○ Related to a pastors group in Gunpo and Anyang area in Gyeonggi Province, 9 cases have been confirmed to date. It is presumed that transmission occurred through a gathering Jeju Island during 25-27 May, where 25 members from 12 churches participated. Investigation is underway for contacts of each church of the ministers.
* (Anyang) Ilsim Vision Church = 5; (Gunpo) Grace Shinil Church = 2; New Covenant Church = 1; Changdaehan Church = 1
○ Related to newly planted local churches in Incheon City and Gyeonggi Province region, 23 cases were newly confirmed. The cluster is related to 13 small churches in the region (11 in Incheon, 2 in Gyeonggi). It is presumed that transmission occurred between participants through events such as prayer meetings and praise meetings which the churches took turns hosting. Contact management and investigation on the source of infection is underway.
* (Incheon) 21 cases related to 11 churches; (Gyeonggi) 2 cases related to 2 churches
○ In light of the recent ongoing spread of COVID-19 through bible studies, weekday meetings, and other religious gatherings, KCDC urged faith communities to refrain from gathering and switch to non-face-to-face meetings.

○ In particular, KCDC requested faith communities especially in Seoul and nearby region to conduct all events including bible studies, prayer meetings, and retreats by non-face-to-face methods until the infection risk subsides. People who belong to one of the high-risk groups (including people aged 65 or older, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions) need to be particularly precautious.
- If having an on-site service is unavoidable, the religious facility hosting the event must reduce the number of participants to ensure that participants can maintain proper distance, check people for fever and other suspected symptoms, ensure hand washing, and require mask wearing. Providing mass meal or activities that make respiratory droplets travel in air (such as singing, shouting, and chanting) should be avoided.
○ KCDC reminded people of the measures to take if a COVID-19 infection occurs in schools.
- If you have fever or respiratory symptoms, do not leave home. Do not go to school or work. Visit a screening clinic and get tested.
- Before and after receiving a test at a screening clinic, do not visit other places including PC cafes and karaoke bars. Stay home. At home, use your own separate personal items. Avoid coming in contact with family or household members. Try to block transmission between household members by wearing masks and washing hands.
COVID-19 PREVENTION MEASURES IN SCHOOLS - Do not go to school or work if having fever or respiratory symptoms - Ventilate classrooms by opening windows - Maintain constant distance between students - Keep facemasks on at all times* while in school * Exceptions allowed for meal times or health problems - Maintain personal hygiene including hand washing and using hand sanitizers - If having fever of 37.5 degrees or above or respiratory symptoms, immediately inform a health teacher and classroom teacher, put on an MFDS-approved respirator-mask, and wait in a separate area - Avoid karaoke rooms, PC cafes, bars, clubs, and other publicly used facilities |
