Updates on COVID-19 in Republic of Korea

□ As of 0:00, 31 July 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 14,336 (including 2,419 imported cases), of which 13,233 cases have been discharged from isolation. There are 8 new local cases, 23 new imported cases, and 0 new death.

□ The current state* of major local clusters as of today (as of 12:00, 1 August) are as follows:
* The specific figures below may differ from the daily reported statistics (which are based on figures as of 0:00 today) or figures disclosed by local municipalities due to factors such as report timing and differences in the time period considered
○ Related to a camping group in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, 3 additional cases (family members living in Gimpo, camped together with confirmed cases) have been confirmed. In total, 9* cases have been confirmed. From the 9 cases 102 contacted individuals are being investigated.
□ As of 0:00, 1 August, there were 23 imported cases, of which, 19 were confirmed at the point of entry, and 4 were confirmed in the community while in mandatory self-quarantine after arrival. The 23 cases consisted of 21 Korean nationals and 2 foreign nationals.
○ The (presumed) location of infection acquisition of the 23 new imported cases are: Americas (1) (Brazil 1), Europe (1) (Poland 1), and Asia excluding China (20) (raq 14, Pakistan 1, Philippines 1, Russia 1 (non-Korean), Uzbekistan 2, Vietnam 1)
○ The Central Disease Control Headquarters informed that along with the 293 Korean-national construction workers who have arrived on July 24th, 72 additional workers have arrived through the Incheon Airport yesterday from Iraq.
- Among the 293 workers who arrived from Iraq, 77 are confirmed positive. The rest of 216 workers are currently being quarantined in facilities in order to avoid regional contamination.
- Among the 72 workers who arrived all 31 symptomatic and 41 asymptomatic individuals have been tested. According to the result, 18 are positive and 49 are negative. 5 remaining individuals are being tested again.
□ The Central Disease Control Headquarters informed that Remdesivir have been imported and supplied to all 106 severe patients from 32 hospitals through a special import procedure.
