Epidemiological situation with COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan as of April 16

As of April 16, 17 new COVID-19 infection cases were detected, 7 cases in women and 10 in men: 

Bishkek City – 5, 

Osh region (Kara-Suu district) - 1 case, 
Naryn region (At-Bashy district - 10, Zhumgal district - 1) - 10.


As of April 16, total of 466 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Kyrgyzstan

Jalal-Abad region - 93, 

Osh region - 131,

Osh City - 71,

Chui region - 28,

Bishkek City – 87,

Batken region - 5,

Naryn region - 45,

Issyk-Kul region - 6.


Of the registered positive cases - 251 are women and 215 men:

  1. Children under the age of 15 years - 41
  2. Of these, under 1 year of age- 3
  3. 16 - 19 yrs- 13
  4. 20 - 35 yrs- 112
  5. 35 - 55 yrs- 182
  6. 55 and older - 118

Number of health workers with COVID-19 confirmed diagnosis for the day – is 5 cases

- Bishkek - 4 

- Naryn region - 1 case.

By now, the total number of health workers diagnosed with COVID- 19 in the KR – is 104 cases.


370 people are staying in hospitals, including 11 in serious condition, 4 of them in intensive care unit. The condition of the remaining COVID-19 patients is assessed as moderately serious or satisfactory.

During today, 13 patients with previously confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis were discharged from hospitals across the country:

Osh City - 2,

Bishkek City - 3,

Naryn region - 4,

Issyk-Kul region - 4,

All of them were discharged with negative coronavirus results of tests.

By today, total of 91 patients were discharged as recovered throughout the country.


Total number of samples received for testing (since 5.02.2020) - 29777

Total number of tests performed - 27951

Total number of tests performed during the day - 985

The number of contacts with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 patients is 7537 [the number of contacts may vary subject to epidemiological investigations]:

  • Close contacts (I category) - 1 556
  • Other contacts (II category) - 5 981

872 people are under medical observation in health care facilities of Kyrgyzstan.
