The easing of the community quarantine across the Philippines is a huge breath of relief for many Filipinos whose lives and livelihoods have been displaced, but experts from the academic community caution that day-to-day behavior has to change until a vaccine is found. In the May 16 media forum, medical anthropologist and University of the Philippines (UP) professor, Dr. Michael Tan, appealed to both the government and the public to practice healthy behaviors while the virus continues to pose risks. The former UP Chancellor also called on all Filipinos to be kinder and more understanding, highlighting the importance of social solidarity in the fight against COVID-19.

DOH issues Press Release: New quarantine site in Alabang inaugurated
Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III together with National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez, Jr. inaugurated a new quarantine site in The Filinvest Tent, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The new quarantine center was established by the Filinvest City Foundation in partnership with EEI Corporation and the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, and in close coordination with the Department of Health, Department of Transportation, Department of National Defense and Bases Conversion and Development Authority...

DOH issues Press Release: Statement on Data Integrity
The Department of Health appreciates the concerns raised by the UP COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team in its Policy Note No. 6, dated May 8, 2020. The DOH has already taken note of the data errors found in the April 24 and 25 data drops. These issues have been resolved as early as April 26, as well as other inconsistencies communicated by private citizens through covidtracker@doh.gov.ph. We very much appreciate the UP Resilience Institute for raising their concerns.
