DOH issues Press Release: DOH, DOTr support bicycles as alternative transport
With many Filipino commuters returning to the road after the transition to GCQ in Metro Manila, there is a need to balance safety against COVID-19 and available public transportation. In celebration of World Bicycle Day last June 3, the Department of Health (DOH), together with officials of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and cycling advocates discussed how cycling may be an alternative mode of transportation during the quarantine. DOH issues Press Release: Families of fallen heroes begin receiving financial support
The Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) earlier signed the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) establishing implementing guidelines on the grant of compensation to public and private health workers pursuant to the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act”. Today, DOH through Health Undersecretaries Gerardo Bayugo and Roger Tong-an also released the first of 32 checks for the loved ones of our fallen health care heroes. The remaining checks are ready for pick-up and delivery to the recipients, and its distribution will be prioritized in the next two days... |

DOH issues Press Release: DOH: COVID-19 death rate on a downward trend
In Tuesday’s Beat COVID-19 Virtual Presser, Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary and Spokesperson Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire reported that the COVID-19 mortality rate in the Philippines continues to be on a downward trend after the Philippines on June 1 recorded its lowest number of mortalities in a single day since early March. DOH issues Press Release: Mas Murang Gamot, Abot Kamay na! E.O. setting MRP of select meds takes effect today
Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III announced early this year that Executive Order No. 104, “Improving Access to Healthcare Through the Regulation of Prices in the Retail of Drugs and Medicines,” which sets the Maximum Retail Prices (MRP) of 87 medicines or 133 formulations will take effect today. According to Duque, EO 104 provides economic relief to Filipinos by making life-saving medicines more affordable. The EO mandates fifty percent (50%) reduction on the prices of medicines for top burden diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, breast, colorectal and lung cancers, chronic kidney disease, and asthma / chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). |
