The Directorate of Health Security and Emergencies (DHSE) is responsible for providing public health Emergency Preparedness leadership, scientific and technical situational awareness and advice at the national level, working in partnership with other organisations to protect the public. The DHSE is the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS’) focal point for emergency planning and execution. The MoHS provides national leadership and coordination for the public health elements of the health sector emergency preparedness resilience and response system. The MoHs also provides risk analysis and assessment of emerging diseases, naturally occurring extreme events, chemical and radiological incidents and deliberate release threats including Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear explosive (CBRNe), to inform the ONS and other stakeholders.
