COVID-19: What is the situation in Northern Ireland?
What is the situation in Northern Ireland?
The Public Health Agency has been working closely with the Department of Health in the development of a new dashboard for COVID-19 statistics. The Department’s dashboard is available at www.pha.site/cvdashboard and replaces the Daily Surveillance Bulletin published by the PHA up to 19 April 2020.
The new dashboard provides information relating to patient admissions and discharges, outbreaks in care settings, bed occupancy, and ICU occupancy, as well as regional and local statistics.
The dashboard will be updated daily by the DoH and is available via the Department’s website at www.pha.site/cvdashboard

The Public Health Agency Health Protection surveillance team has established surveillance systems which are used to monitor COVID-19 activity in Northern Ireland. The systems allow us to monitor trends, inform public health measures to reduce COVID-19 transmission, and to measure the impact of public health measures to reduce COVID-19 transmission in both hospital and community settings.
As of 18 April at 9:30am testing has resulted in 148 new positive cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Northern Ireland to 2,486.
To date, 193 people who tested positive have sadly died.
The Public Health Agency COVID-19 advice page can be found here. Surveillance reports can be found here.
