Scottish COVID-19 test numbers: 15 April 2020

A total of 34,064 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these:

  • 27,316 were confirmed negative
  • 6,748 were positive
  • 699 patients who tested positive have died

Management information reported by NHS Boards shows

  • 195 patients were in intensive care last night, with 191 of those having tested positive
  • there were 1,748 people in Scottish hospitals with either confirmed or suspected COVID-19 (including those in intensive care)

Other management information

On 14 April 2020 there were:

  • 3,826 calls to 111 and 679 calls to the Coronavirus Helpline. The number of calls to 111 includes all calls, whether or not they relate to COVID-19
  • 1,428 Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) attendances, of which 451 were for suspected COVID-19. SAS took 246 people to hospital with suspected COVID-19
  • 589 people delayed in hospital on 10 April. This is 1,023 less than the baseline period (04/03 weekly return) and follows an initial target to reduce delays by 400 by the end of March. A further target of reducing by a further 500 has been set for the end of April.
  • 433 adult care homes which had lodged at least one notification for suspected COVID-19 to the Care Inspectorate. It is important to note that not all of these care homes will still have outbreaks; additional data will be published shortly on the number that that currently have outbreaks.
  • As of 14 April a total of 7,093 staff, or around 4.3% of the NHS workforce, are reporting as absent due to a range of reasons related to Covid-19
