In the most recent week of complete data, 11 September 2021 - 17 September 2021, 16,605 people tested positive in London, a rate of 184 cases per 100,000 population. This compares with 20,879 cases and a rate of 232 for the previous week.

For England as a whole there were 258 cases per 100,000 population for the week ending 17 September 2021.

Daily announced COVID-19 deaths in London hospitals

NHS England announces the number of patients who have died in hospitals in England and had either tested positive for COVID-19 or where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

NHS England figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day. Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure. This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days.
