Cases Increase by 56; Summit County Issues Stay-At-Home Order

Summit County Order: The stay-at-home order issued Wednesday requires residents of the county to remain in their homes and only make essential trips for food, medication, or medical needs. Visitors are being asked to leave. The county order goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Friday. Summit County currently has 89 cases, second only to Salt Lake County but with a much smaller population.

Current cases: An additional 56 confirmed cases were announced Thursday in Utah, out of slightly more than 1,000 additional tests. No new deaths have been reported. Local health departments reporting new cases include Davis (4), Salt Lake (27), Southwest Utah (3), Summit (6), Tooele (1), Utah (6), Wasatch (5), and Weber-Morgan (4). Temples closed: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will close all of its temples worldwide beginning Thursday.
